Some one lakh of them. All over Bengaluru’s roads. Driving without manners. Thinking they have the ultimate authority to do what they want. Try putting some rules and they immediately come under the umbrella of Shankarnag and, welfare association presidents who are in reality nothing more than goons. The question is why must the government succumb to these Autocrats. One time, and every single time after that. For years together. There is no one single place where you CANNOT find an auto under a no parking sign. They park under that as though it’s their birth right. They park right at signals, they park at bus stands, they park everywhere else other than auto stands. Is it time the government started considering 10-auto per stand rule every 100 metres? We can then have auto lined avenues instead of tree lined ones, considering the already depleted vegetation in the city. Hopefully every alternate 100 metres can then be used for buses and two wheelers. Unless of course another two lakh autorickshaws are given permits. Wake up Yeddy, do something to this before the problem goes out of hand. Then instead of trucks lining outer ring road, we’d have autocrats lining them one day.
